Overview
Shawu was a great elephant bull known for his immense tusks who once roamed the South African bush. Today, he lends his name to Shawu’s Hide, an intimate lodge in the western sector of Welgevonden where his wider ancestors can be seen browsing the trees and drinking from the private waterhole.
Shawu’s Hide operates on a fully catered or self-catering basis. Not only is there a fully equipped kitchen but also indoor and outdoor dining spaces as well as a barbeque and boma. The lodge can be taken on an exclusive-use basis for families or groups.
