Overview
This intimate lodge exudes the grace and charm of a bygone era. Named after the giant makweti trees that dominate the landscape, Makweti Safari Lodge is surrounded by pristine wilderness and the Indaba Lounge has been positioned to overlook a natural waterhole.
Makweti’s fine dining and excellent wines please even the most discerning palate. It is a member of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs for culinary excellence and candlelit gourmet dinners are served in the formal dining room or boma.

Accommodation
Five elegant thatch-and-stone suites make up Makweti. Each secluded haven is individually decorated with antique treasures and plush furnishings, to ensure complete comfort. Every one also flows on to a private deck, with inviting views of the wilderness beyond, and has a romantic clawfoot Victorian bathtub. The king-size beds can be divided into twins.
Four of the five suites have private plunge pools.

Activities
Dawn and dusk safaris in an open safari vehicle, under the direction of an expert guide, are an integral part of the Makweti experience. A maximum of six guests are permitted on each vehicle, allowing everyone a coveted ‘window seat’.
